I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
